Vattakottai, the 18th-century coastal fort is constructed during the ruling of Travancore Kingdom. Presently, a protected site under the administration of the Indian archaeological department of the fort is known for its mystical charm. From the fort, you will get the view of western ghats and the fort walls that overlooks the ocean is where you can go for a stroll. The gentle breeze and the lovely ambiance of the fort are hypnotizing and magical. The walls of the fort have a wonderful architecture that includes watch towers, weapon rooms, and many other attractions to go around and explore. The fort once had a 4ft wide secret path to Padmanabhapuram palace and at present, the path remains closed. The pond in the middle of the fort and the parade ground are two amazing locations to sit and enjoy the fort and its surroundings.
