Cubbon Park situated at the heart of the city is one of the major attractions of Bangalore. The park built in the year 1870 is known for its beautiful flowers, lawns, historical buildings, and musical fountains. The construction style of the park is influenced by British and Indian architecture. The historic buildings namely, August Bandstand and Government Museum, which has the remnants from India’s Mohenjodaro period. The museum also has coins that are more than 5000 years of age. The park has more than 6000 plants and trees like the heavy silver oaks and Gulmohar trees, are the major attractions of the park.
